Grand rounds & lectures series

Grand Rounds are a great way for clinical pharmacology consultants to use Clinical Pharmacology Month to raise awareness of the importance of the specialty. They are open to the entire medical community and we hope that consultants could pick a theme that demonstrates the vibrancy and value of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics.

They tend to look at the bigger picture and share information in an engaging educational format: an issue where clinical pharmacology is relevant could be highlighted and either the latest research, a new approach or different treatment plan could be presented.

Grand Rounds help doctors and other healthcare professionals keep up to date in important evolving areas that may be outside of their day-to-day responsibilities or area of practice.

Alternatively, consultants may prefer to deliver a plenary academic lecture at a local medical school, which can also help us to promote the specialty and demonstrate how the role of clinical pharmacologist benefits the NHS.
